Still unbeaten, OC came into the game as the heavy favorite. However, 951, although short handed, was able to give them a real run for their money. A fast paced first quarter would see OC jump out of the gates quickly. On the other side of the ball, 951 were able to make several strong pushes to their own offensive side. However, the OC defense was strong allowing only one goal. Quarter time would have the Bombers leading 4.5.29 to the Purple Raiders 1.1.7.
The second quarter saw the Raiders make necessary adjustments against the Bombers. Strong play from the 951 veterans, Chris Olson and Deron Lien would stifle the OC attack. As a result, 951 were able to create their own offensive opportunities. Had OC's defense not come up as big as it did, the Raiders would have easily exploded for a large offensive output, but in the middle of the quarter, the Raiders suffered a blow when Deron Lien, playing ruck, went down with a severly sprained ankle. The half ended with the Bombers holding a small 4.9.33 to the Raiders 2.6.18 lead.
In the second half OC came out with a purpose. Showing more focus on both ends of the field, dominating the ball and the quarter. After three the Bombers led 8.12.52 to 951's 2.7.19.
The fourth quarter was much of the same for both sides, as OC continued to pound the ball toward the goal. Chris Olson helped lead a late flurry for the Purple Raiders, but it wasn't nearly enough.
